Joris Angevaare is a no-nonsense Dutch designer known for work that is edgy, experimental and full of character. With over two decades of experience, he creates pragmatic solutions that break rules and challenge conventions. Sometimes provocative and always innovative, he combines design thinking with a foundation in business economics to distil the essence of each brief and spark strong creative direction.

Joris studied business economics at the University of Rotterdam before moving into interior design. He began his career at Concrete in Amsterdam, where he spent six years during a period of significant growth, before relocating to Singapore to join Designphase. He stepped into the role of Design Director, later becoming a partner, and after a decade with the firm, he joined HBA seeking a broader platform for creative impact.

As Partner, Joris drives the growth of Studio HBA and oversees the studio’s design vision, quality and creative culture.
